Church Planter

Are you a pastor? Would you like to be part of a team planting a church where there is no evangelical witness? Believe it or not, many French towns fit such a description.

We’re looking for pastors willing to begin churches through evangelism, small Bible study groups and building relationships with locals. They will work with OM colleagues and OM partner churches.

When possible, this pastor will work with an OM Global Action team – 5-6 young adults investing 1-2 yeas in the church plant. Team members help to build contacts in the town and begin the fledging church.

You will need to learn French if you don’t speak it already. Previous pastoral experience is helpful.

English Teacher

French language is no longer necessary in all French missions positions! As proud as they are of their language, the French realise the need to speak English in today’s world, and are seeking instruction from native speakers. Could you be one of them?

We’re looking for teachers (preferably, but not required) to give child and/or adult language classes during the school year. An outgoing personality is helpful, where friendship evangelism outside the classroom is the focus of the ministry.

Long-term Worker among Immigrants

People from closed countries abound in Paris – where we have the freedom to tell them about Christ. Immigrant men and women are often hungry for relationship in what is to them a relatively ‘cold’ society. They also have educational needs.

We’re looking for families, and especially men, to reach out in culturally-appropriate ways to these immigrants. You will need to learn French if you don’t speak it already. Arabic language is very helpful.

Come build relationships and share Jesus with non-Christians, all in the context of long-term church-planting. Offer literacy classes to help immigrants integrate into French society. Share God’s Word through Bible story-ing.

Start Date: ASAP
Commitment Length: at least 2 years

Global Action team leader

Supervise and direct the work of a Global Action team assigned to a pioneer church - duties in the areas of training, evangelism & pastoral care

Global Action teams (5-6 young adults) are a great help to fledgling churches. Their youthful enthusiasm is very helpful in making local contacts, spreading the Gospel and bringing people into the church. We’re looking for mature adults/couples passionate about evangelism and training young people to lead such teams in their work. The ministry is a balance of direct evangelism and discipleship of Christian workers. In addition to pastoral care, team leaders organize team training, centred on the 4-module curriculum: Biblical knowledge, mission, evangelism, and discipleship/relationship.

You will need to learn French if you don’t speak it already. Team language will be French. English language skills are also helpful in pastoral care.

Start Date: ASAP
